Just when you thought you knew laminate

If it’s been a while since you last considered laminate flooring, there may have been some changes you might not even recognize. Most homeowners know that it’s an excellent wood-look flooring that does an excellent job of mimicking the real thing. But these days, you’ll also find it mimics real stone and ceramic as well, with results that are just as amazing. For these looks, you’ll see tiles instead of planks, but all the same amazing beauty, texture, and colorations in each piece.

Visiting us at World of Floors is a great way to see all these changes for yourself. You’ll find a large selection of materials and our associates will be standing by to answer any questions and help you pick the perfect product. From our two showrooms located in Brandon and Tampa, FL, we currently serve the communities of Tampa, Lutz, Land O’ Lakes, Trinity, Brandon, Lithia, Plant City, Dover, Seffner, and Valrico and we’d love to serve you as well.

Since many laminate floors can be installed as a “floating” floor, meaning you’ll need no glue or adhesives, you will find the installation process to be very quick. Not only does this mean you’ll get to walk on your floors sooner, but it also means you’ll save money on the installation process. With the proper underlayment, these floors will also be softer to walk on, offering more comfort than other hard surface floorings.

The construction of laminate flooring offers extensive durability. The high-density fiberboard gives plenty of stability, while the top wear layer, also known as an overlay, protects against scratches and fading. It’s a great choice for high-traffic homes, especially those with pets and children, and has a lifespan that offers peace of mind along with it.

One of the things that make laminate particularly popular is the fact that it has a wonderful water-resistant option. When properly installed in bathrooms, kitchens, and foyers, you will experience a lot more peace of mind when splashing and spills occur. The material is not “waterPROOF” meaning we would advise against installing it in the basement, but in regular areas of the home, you’ll notice a big difference.

It’s a very personal choice, deciding how well laminate fits your lifestyle and your home. Take careful stock of everything you want and need from your flooring, discuss these with your flooring associate, and you’ll be well on your way.
